By Susan Hughes

This dream profession comes with a lot of responsibilities. So, be prepared for the blind and visually impaired readers Atlanta in your class. Show to them that you are the perfect teacher to begin with and you will be teaching them everything that one has to know in their current education stage. You are going to be a formidable team.

You must provide them ample of time during the orientation period. Remember that they are encountering all of these things for the first time. Therefore, your role in here is just to answer all of their queries until they are ready for the real activity. Be one with them in their journey and this will never feel like work.

Orienting them to everything is the key for their anxiety to go away. So, be confident as their teacher and try to introduce them to some of their new classmates if they are up for it. They do not have to do this on their own. When they are having trouble understanding some aspects of the lesson, then they already have a friend to lean on to.

If they show a little fire of independence, let them be. If they remain to be open to your help on an occasional basis, then you are truly on the right track. These children need to challenge themselves every once in a while. Do not damper that spirit in them because as their teacher, you need to do the exact opposite.

Be certain that your voice is always clear and sharp. Remember that all of your students are learning by the ear. So, learn to take care of your body especially your voice. Take vitamins and learn to rest when you really had a tough week. You have more responsibilities now and that is something that your body cannot handle sometimes.

Make it a rule for them to raise their hand whenever they want to ask something or contribute to the lesson. Again, you need to promote a normal environment as much as you can. In that scenario, you will be on the good side of their parents and you are doing your part in collecting funds for this very special center.

With regards to visually impaired students, then changing their position is the best thing to do. Provide them with all the tools they need to top their class. So, go ahead and be more concerned with their specific conditions. You really have to go beyond what is being asked from you in here.

You must memorize their names. In that scenario, you have their entire attention and they will stop thinking that this is way to hard for them. Thus, talk to them like they are your friends at the same time.

Lastly, you must be persistent more than anything else. In that situation, you can handle the concerns of everyone for sure. That is essential when the children have low self esteem to begin with. Build them up at this point.
